Hello everyone. This week on Blue Note Dispatch we have some splendid tunes. We’ll kick off with “Cold”, the brand-new single from Âme on Innervisions, featuring the Berlin vocalist Jeannel. It’s a taste of their upcoming LP Love Is The Dance, and a beautiful example of what happens when the Innervisions crew slows things down and lets a voice lead.
nthng’s “With You” is a wonderful atmospheric cut from his 2020 album Hypnotherapy. It’s very sparse, revolving mostly around a hypnotic vocal wrapped in a pleasant ambience.
Two blasts from the past are Martin Roth’s “Beautiful Life” and I:Cube’s “Cash Conv” - true gems to be added to your library.
To close off, we have another release from Kieran Hebden’s (aka Four Tet) Text Records label. There’s no pronounceable artist or album name here - it’s all unicode symbols. It's out on Bandcamp, Qobuz and possibly other streaming platforms - if you manage to find it.
I hope you’ll enjoy this week’s picks.
XoXo
