Crunch Time - 2026-04-10
Happy Saturday everyone. This week we're going to jump back and forth between decades and genres. You'll hear some house, classy UK garage and something to soothe your mind.
Happy Saturday everyone. This week we're going to jump back and forth between decades and genres. You'll hear some house, classy UK garage and something to soothe your mind.
We'll start with "Crunch Time" remixed by Axel Boman. Fresh off the press, Axel's take brings you 10 minutes of his signature slow-building groove. The original "Crunch Time" rides a warm, classic house groove full of swinging drums and subtle wit — but it's this Axel Boman remix that caught my ear. The Swedish producer and Studio Barnhus co-founder needs no introduction; he's one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary house music.
Next is a release from 2010. Renowned R&S Label released Orpheus by Pariah, which is the alias of British producer Arthur Cayzer, originally from Scotland and now based in Amsterdam. "Orpheus" itself is a deeply sensitive piece that draws its warmth from sampled vocal fragments of Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way" and The Undisputed Truth's "Smiling Faces Sometimes." It's a track that suits the night perfectly — the kind of thing you put on when the city quiets down and you need something that speaks to the soul. A genuine classic that still sounds ahead of its time.
Last, but as always, not least, we have Taana Gardner — "Heartbeat" remixed by Philly Vanilli. It's not available on streaming services, so head to Bandcamp to listen to this one. This particular rework comes courtesy of Philly Vanilli, the prolific edit maestro behind the Deep Disco Edits label out of Montevideo, Uruguay.
I hope that everyone will find something to listen to this sunny weekend.
Enjoy!
