Hello lovelies,
This week brings a bit more deep, minimal listening, with a few nice surprises along the way.
We'll start with one of the first singles from Bonobo's upcoming eighth album, Distance in Static. Artistrack put it well - the track has that signature Bonobo warmth, but with a new urgency to it, "written specifically for the witching hour in a dark, packed club."
Next up, Genius of Time open their new Vocal Series on Aniara Recordings, and "Rave Breaks" sets the tone beautifully. It's a radiant, classic-house-leaning summer tune, full of uplifting notes and carried by the warm intimacy of Bassie Kay's voice. One of those tracks that builds a memory if you drop it at the right moment.
And to close, Denver-based producer and visual artist RUMTUM reveals his brand-new EP, In A Forest, on Anjunachill. He blends world instruments with modular synthesis into immersive downtempo music that should land well with anyone who loves Nosaj Thing, Boards of Canada, or Four Tet.
Speaking on the concept of the EP, RUMTUM shares: "In a Forest was created as a space for escapism, grounding, and connection through music. Inspired by late 90s and early 2000s experimental electronic music, the EP blends loose grooves, organic textures, vintage samplers, modular synthesis, and imperfect human moments."
Enjoy!
XoXo
