Hey lovelies, this week we have an excellent selection from different corners of the musical universe, and, as promised, a few tracks you won't find on streaming services.
We'll start with "Where You Belong", a gem from UK duo The Groovers. The track is built around a gorgeous sample of Dionne Warwick's "Move Me No Mountain", stretched into five and a half minutes of deep, soulful house that never once rushes.
Jürgen Paape, co-founder of the Kompakt label, surprises once again with his "Frutti di Mare" remix of "BUBBLEGUM" by Lothar Hempel. This sun-drenched musical nod to italo disco takes us on a journey to a carefree holiday land, which we drift through at an unhurried, easy pace.
We close the selection with an interesting production trick. Claudio PRC utilised a single sample from label founder Joachim Spieth's "Textures 1 (Sound Library)" as the sonic bedrock for two distinct cuts on the Texture 40.1 (Claudio PRC Variations) EP.
