Welcome to another edition of Blue Note Dispatch. This week I recommend a superb track from the talented producer Lauren Flax, who together with Liz Wight of Pale Blue takes us on a slow, hazy journey on "Return To Love"
Welcome to another edition of Blue Note Dispatch. This week I recommend a superb track from the talented producer Lauren Flax, who together with Pale Blue takes us on a dubby, acid-tinged journey on "Return To Love", built around the sound of her Sequential Prophet-6.
Nabihah Iqbal's "Zone 1 to 6000", remixed by the legendary Frank Wiedemann, is another one worth your attention. The track takes us on a trip back to the 80s, when the high tones of electronic synthesisers and beautiful, slightly dystopian female vocals reigned supreme.
We close the selection in a somewhat unusual way, with the indie rock track "State of the Art" performed by Jim James - the opening piece from his 2013 solo debut, and a quiet meditation on what technology does to the way we live.
I hope you'll find something here that delights you.
Happy listening!
