Surface Tension - 2026-03-13
Hello everyone. It's another lucky Friday the 13th. This week we have some fresh deep sounds that inevitably herald the coming of the spring season when we'll finally be able to step outside to vibe together once again.
We'll start with "Surface Tension" by Tomos in the Frits Wentink Remix, available for download after a long time. Originally released on Majestic Casual Records, this one got the Dutch producer's signature loose, off-kilter house treatment. Wentink has a knack for making things feel slightly unfinished in the best way, and here it works perfectly.
Next up is "Leaves" by Aamiq. Part of the freshly released "When" EP on Serafin Audio Imprint, this track explores themes of inner guidance, change and renewal. Aamiq is a Syrian-born, Germany-based producer whose atmospheric downtempo sound draws on organic textures and field recordings. "Leaves" unfolds slowly and rewards your attention.
"Test If I" by The Wild Child is a fresh release on MoBlack Records, featuring AMPER, Pria, NAB and Zac Martel. The Marrakech-based producer is known for weaving traditional Moroccan sonic elements into modern deep house, and this track layers percussive textures and vocal fragments into something that pulls you in and doesn't let go.
"Contemplation" by Microlot in the D. Diggler Dub Remix comes via Seven Villas Music as part of the "Cobalt" EP. D. Diggler (Andreas Mugge) has been a quiet institution in dub techno since the late '90s, with roots in Raum...Musik and Cocoon. At over eight minutes, this remix stretches out and lets the reverb do the talking.
