Ups and Downs - 2025-09-29
Welcome to the September issue — the most important of them all. The iconic Anna Wintour made sure Vogue would show its best side in September, a month when everything shifts and the world begins to slow down, getting ready for autumn (or spring, if you live in the Southern Hemisphere).

Welcome to the September issue — the most important of them all. The iconic Anna Wintour made sure Vogue would show its best side in September, a month when everything shifts and the world begins to slow down, getting ready for autumn (or spring, if you live in the Southern Hemisphere). Nights get longer, we cozy up with a book — and, of course, a good playlist.
We have a special one today. By sheer coincidence, it also happens to be my birthday — so I’d like to play you some of the tracks that were with me as I was growing up. There are, of course, new tracks too, but let’s be real for a moment: there’s nothing quite like a melody that brings back memories of people and moments. Moments that shaped us into who we are today.
So without further ado, please enjoy this week’s selection of tunes from the past and present. Be present — and treat that as a gift. Cherish every single track, like we used to do before streaming services came around.
Have a lovely Monday, and as always — stay classy.
xoxo
P.S.
The guitar riff in St Germain’s "Sure Thing" is actually a fragment of another track by John Lee Hooker called "Harry’s Philosophy." That tune was part of the soundtrack for the 1990 movie The Hot Spot, starring Don Johnson and Jennifer Connelly.
