Good morning, folks,
Another amazing week is almost behind us. This one’s been a tough ride — music-selection-wise. Sometimes, finding just the right set of tracks for an interesting listening experience means going back and forth, re-listening, reshuffling, and re-feeling the whole list.
This time we’re going a bit more eclectic. The first standout comes from Dead-Tones, Of the Moon & Nasser — “Wake Up.” A nu-disco / indie gem released on Sum Over Histories, the label run by Frankie & Sandrino. It’s a wonderful, fresh blend of acoustic guitars and SH-101 synths — “born from turbulent times,” as the artists describe it.
Next, Ana Roxanne brings us “It’s a Rainy Day on the Cosmic Shore.” It begins with soft grey noise and the sound of gentle waves, gradually layered with subtle textures. The whole piece feels meditative — a soothing pause amid the daily swirl of sounds and obligations.
At just under two minutes, Kamilou’s “Femme Fatale” doesn’t meander — it arrives. A queen in her own right, she places a crown of intent above a backdrop of personal reckoning. In the quiet-wood glow of your evening, let this be the moment when you stand in your own light, decide again who you will be. Not following the pack. Choosing your pulse. Claiming the crown.
Finally, CHATU’s “All the Things” is my cherry on top this week. Though it races along at 138 bpm, it feels light and warm — carried by a fantastic vocal that struck a chord with me personally when I heard those few sentences:
I've been, seeing all the things all I didn't see.
Finding all the things all the things I didn't need.
Relying on the things I couldn't feel.
As always — stay safe, and try to catch as much sun as you can.
xoxo
